Ivan Vatsov

Ivan Vatsov is a Bulgarian cinematographer and camera operator with more than two decades of experience in international film and television production.
Born in Sofia in 1982, Ivan studied Audiovisual Arts before specializing in Cinematography at New Bulgarian University.
His professional career began in 2003 as a Video Assistant on the international feature film Turetskiy Gambit. From there, he built his career through the camera department, working as a Camera Assistant, Camera Operator, Second Unit Director of Photography and Director of Photography.
This hands-on journey through the camera department has given Ivan a deep understanding of every stage of the filmmaking process — from camera preparation and technical execution to movement, lighting and visual storytelling.
His international credits include The Hitman's Bodyguard, Mechanic: Resurrection, Boyka: Undisputed, The Expendables 4, Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, Black Lotus, Hellboy: The Crooked Man and Young Woman and the Sea.
Throughout his career, Ivan has had the opportunity to work alongside internationally recognized talent including Adrian Brody,Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone , Dolph Lundgren and many more.
His experience ranges from large-scale international action productions to independent features, always with the same focus: creating strong, cinematic images that serve the story.
Today, Ivan works internationally as a Director of Photography, Second Unit DOP and Camera Operator, bringing extensive technical experience, adaptability and a strong visual instinct to every production.
